GOOD PRODUCTION SKILLS FORMS THE CORE OF THE FILM
We have the full course (duration is 4 months) and the short courses (1 month). We also have periodic masterclass workshops from time to time. Our labs are 6hours per week scheduled in clusters of 3hrs each.
Our Labs involve pure skills training, field induction and industry-mentors dialogues. It involves continuous practicals with instructors helping the students to improve on their skills with every assignment.
The Production lab consists of 2 Units of which one can study each per month or have the two units for the full 4 months including project, thus preparing someone for the market.
Production Design Lab Unit
This lab covers make up for stage and film. It focuses on everyday make up and special effects make up, it also looks into costume design for stage, film and TV, wardrobe management. It also looks into set design and construction, location scouting and lighting of the various scenes. It looks at art design of different styles of production.
This course enables the individual to understand both the aesthetic and practical aspects of art design and how to work with other production elements to create a spectacular vision for the director.
Production Lab Unit
This covers production for theatre and film. It entails planning and managing a production. Marketing and financial management for theatre and film. It also looks into fund raising, marketing approaches and advertising of productions. This lab further looks into Marketing and advertising strategies of entertainment products. And different approaches for marketing and managing different genres, events, shows and performances.
This course also seeks to empower the performer, director and producer on the different ways and strategies of making money in the theatre and film industry, thus touching on the different forms and genres of theatre, enabling the artist to find their niche in the market.
Production lab students will work on a professional set and help in planning of our film and theatre productions as part of their projects,. They can add this to their showreels.

Production Lab Fees:
4 Months skills training (Cinematography and Film directing) : Kshs. 72,000
1 Month workshop training: Kshs. 20,000
Copy of the following: Birth Certificate, KCSE Certificate OR IGCSE or Equivalent, School leaving Certificate OR Letter from Referee, and enthusiasm for film production.
